Why Children Need Nature and Wilderness
This presentation will air on October 15th at 7 am (PST), 10 am (EST), 3 pm (UK), 4 pm (CET)
Amie is a Wilderness Educator, a former Montessori school teacher, a nature coach and yoga teacher. She fuses her experience in the world, the classroom and outdoors to bring nature-based courses and programs to children, families and adults.
Originally from Austin, Texas, she now lives in the beautiful mountainous region of southern Germany. Her programs teach wilderness skills so that people feel more comfortable in nature, encourage problem-solving and cooperation, provide full body movement, and establish a deeper connection to nature, and in turn, the self.
Amie believes that nature’s benefits are so great and have such a profound effect on our health, well-being and mental state that we must provide space and time daily for the outdoors. Nature calms and regulates the nervous system, boosts mood, reduces stress and anxiety, and connects us to something greater than ourselves- these are the spaces that everyone should be in.
Amie has dedicated her life to bringing people into nature, to help them open their hearts and find meaningful connections to others and life itself.
